Hi @CollaboraOffice, since software and software services from the United States seem to be less a secure and sustainable option than ever lately, I wanted to ask you if you see an increasing demand for open office suite solutions?

After having used Owncloud/Nextcloud since, like, forever but only as a sync and share I wanted to try and get online editing working as an alternative to Google Docs/Drive/M365 etc.

Onlyoffice only supports M$ docs and trying to open something else just downloads the file.

Collabora on the other hand is able to open and edit ALL documents.

I really like the integration of #CollaboraOfficeOnline into #Nexctloud, but the built-in CODE server takes up 1.6GB of memory, which is just too much for my 4GB VPS. #Hetzner Storage Share doesn't even include it for this reason.
Nextloud allows you to connect to any #Collabora Online server. Such a resource-intensive service is a great candidate for sharing, but no one offered it as a (paid) service, so I asked @archos if they could offer it as part of their @oscloud. They did and it works great and I just set up a recurring donation for them.

Ich habe gerade was seltsames entdeckt. Mein #Server kann seine eigenen lokalen Domains nicht finden. Während ich zum Beispiel auf meinem Laptop mit "curl -k meinelokaledomain.tld" ein ok als Antwort bekomme, kommt auf dem Server mit dem gleichen Befehl nur ein "Could not resolve host". Wie soll ich das jetzt verstehen? Dies führt zum Beispiel dazu, dass #Nextcloud weder #Collabora noch #OnlyOffice findet.

Das Projekt @OpenCloud sieht spannend aus. Grundlegende Dinge wie Filebrowser, #Collabora und Spaces funktionieren. Desktop und Mobile Clients fehlen aber noch.

Just found out, that Onlyoffice always creates Microsoft-Documents and can only export OpenDocument. Still a bit baffled about that fact.

Dear @nextcloud users/admins out there, what would you recommend for a fresh #NextCloud setup:

End-to-end encryption of *some* folders: Using the "native" #E2EE app or an external encryption client? Why? (I have read the GitHub thread, partly.)

For collaboration on rich documents, what should I use? I used #Collabora #CODE many years ago, but #OnlyOffice seems to have taken over. (For non-E2EE folders only, obviously.)
