The pic I use for my profile was taken almost 30 years ago at the Butchart Gardens. It might be my favorite place in the world (at least of the places I have visited so far). We spent a week in Victoria last Summer and I figured it was time to update the pic, so I tried to recreate my pose. Honestly, I can't tell which pic is the younger me. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

A relatively young dude in a gray short-sleeved shirt and tan pants standing next to and gently caressing a stainless steel garden ball that is sitting atop a pedestal. It is a bright sunny day and he is surrounded by a variety of flowers and green bushes. He's wearing sun glasses and has an expression on his face that says he thinks he is much cooler than he really is.

The same dude, posing the same way, with the same garden ball at the Butchart Gardens, about thirty years later. It's another bright sunny day but he's not smart enough to be wearing sunglasses this time. He still sports the tan pants but he's wearing a collared short sleev blue shirt this time. It's extremely hard to tell, but if you zoom in on the pic using an electron microscope you might be able to see a few new gray hairs on his head. While not as obvious this time, the expression on his face still betrays the fact that he thinks he's cooler than he really is.
