My choice in BSD will always be OpenBSD which I used for decades.. In Linux, tried most, but always coming back to Archlinux and Centos (which I replaced with Alma Linux). Not judging, just stating what works for me. Worth mentioning as a nice and stable linux distro is the Russian ROSA FRESH 13.
