It also brings to mind when someone was freaking out over “algorithms” even though the person arguing for them was stating on a client level, which wouldn’t impact the person freaking out at all 😒 Regarding Misskey that’s actually a really cool feature and I hope to see more services tastefully take advantage of that

Linux Is BestWhen you visit Facebook.com, you see nothing — just a screen asking you to sign up or log in.Friendica does the same thing.I prefer a transparent Fediverse — one where, before I decide to sign up and share any details about myself, I can see what kind of community you're running and who’s part of it.For example, I watched Mstdn.ca for nearly a month before joining. I knew who the staff were, what kind of posts they liked or shared, who appeared to be active, whether the space was fairly moderated, whether there was any drama, if people's privacy was respected, and generally what kind of content was welcomed.Fedi sites like Friendica lack that transparency.
